COLOR GRADING 101 - Joel Aquino

For me, color grading is personal preference. It depends on the author's mood and the client's requirement. On this example I was amazed by the model's pose, her hair, eyes and lips. While looking at her, I remember Poison Ivy (Uma Thurman) from the Batman Movie. So I started to think on how to tweak the colors and the mood of the photo according to my imagination. On this, I took reference on the color wheel to see for complementary colors. Basically, green compliments red... I used color mixer, lots of curves adjustments, vibrancy and I adjusted the over all colors by using Camera RAW (you can use this feature by the way by making your layer a smart object) option from Adobe Photoshop.
